Cleisthenes is the University of Houston chapter of Alpha Rho Chi.

Since the chapter's rechartering we have strived to promote professionalism, by pushing to prepare our members to live up to the demands and expectations of the business world; mentoring, by creating opportunities to see first-hand from alumni, faculty and professionals what is needed to succeed in our profession; networking, by helping members connect with students and professionals all over the country and abroad; and fellowship, by fostering a forum for social interaction beyond the confines of the school's walls and create long-lasting relationships - professionally and personally.

Officially founded on the 11th of April, 1914, Alpha Rho Chi is the nation's only national co-ed professional-social fraternity for architecture and the allied arts. It was established to encourage closer fellowship and a greater interest in the study of Architecture and the Allied Arts. Alpha Rho Chi is a charter member of the Professional Fraternity Association.
